We are delighted to announce that the government has given the green light for us to go ahead with The Racing Pigeon Show. We will be ready to welcome you to enjoy this special event.

The organisers are working hard to ensure the event is safe for everyone attending. We have all followed all up to date guidelines and have undergone COVID safe certified training.  Please regularly check this page as this it will be updated with any government updates as and when available so that every one can have a safe and enjoyable experiance. Here’s the current situation.

GOV.UK UPDATE Permitted events — no earlier than 21 June 2021 ‘Step 4 will take place no earlier than 21 June, following a further review of the data against the four tests. As before, the government will announce one week in advance whether restrictions will be eased as planned. With appropriate mitigations in place, by Step 4, the government aims to remove all legal limits on social contact and enable all events above the Step 3 capacity restrictions to go ahead. This will be strictly subject to the government review of the latest available data on the impact of the previous step against four tests and the outcome of the scientific Events Research Programme, potentially using testing to reduce the risk of infection, subject to further evaluation.’ – Taken from GOV.UK

Events from June 21st will be able to take place as normal with no additional measures. The venue and ourselves have however updated our own safety measures.

masks and distance

Once we are aware of whether masks and if any social distance measures are required this will be updated. Please adhere to the current legal requirements when inside the building. Hand sanitising facilities will be available throughout the venue for your frequent use.


Doncaster Racecourse are currently only accepting contactless and card payments at the restaurant and bar areas. Currently the venue has amended their catering to pre-packaged items only. Any amendments to this will be updated here nearer the time.


All show entry is to be PRE-BOOKED under current guidelines. We have introduced arrival times as a further requirement. Please stick to the times that you have booked on your tickets to enable fewer people waiting at the entrance and to speed up your entrance into the show in an organised manner. The venue will ensure plenty of queuing space to allow visitors to socially distance if necessary dependant on government advise at the time.

extra cleaning

The venue already maintains excellent housekeeping and are carrying out regular deep cleans as well as an increased cleaning regime during the show. The racecourse was specifically selected by the government for trials on reopening events during COVID.

Upon booking your tickets we will collect your name, address and contact details. We may need these for track and trace or to contact you to update any changes that may occur. Current guidelines allows no entry to anyone who hasn't pre-booked and registered. No tickets will be available at present on the door.

Inside the venue there will be increased ventilation. Also we will increase the size of the gangways to allow for social distancing and one way systems if nessersery.

Frequently asked questions

If the show is cancelled due to government COVID guidelines we will contact and your ticket can be transferred to a contingency date set for Spring 2022. Of course you could also request a refund for your ticket in these circumstances.

Current government guidelines are clear that a mask should be worn inside the event. Once seated at the bars or restaurant tables masks may be removed.

As the show is in November it is not yet clear if these rules will still apply however we would advise now to bring one.

We will contact you directly and offer you the chance to reschedule to a contingency date in Spring 2022 or you may have a refund.

There are no guidelines or plans to check vaccinations or provide a test before entry. As from June 21st entry should be ‘like normal’. As you would have pre-booked your tickets we can contact you if nessesery to advise of any changes should they come into place.

Doncaster Racecourse is open for events and has been pivotal to the reopening of venues in the UK and has worked closely with the government in the reopening of indoor events.
